A NEW ROLE!

As I sat and contemplated things I will soon face within my life, the reality of my future hit home. I have a huge part to play (along with the rest of my brothers and sisters in Christ) in the coming of Jesus to become “KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORD!” To many times we get so caught up in things here and now that we neglect to look at our role in the end times. I understand my role at this moment is telling people about the saving knowledge of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and how they can experience eternal salvation. But, one day soon, that will change when Jesus makes His return for His second coming. Here in 1 Thess. 4:13-18 we see that just before that coming we see Jesus coming back to get His children (alive and dead). We all get our new eternal bodies and are gather in heaven with Jesus. We have a name that Christians call this, but it is not mentioned in the Bible, so, I am not going to use it here, just the Word of God as it is written.

1 Thess 4:13-18

13 Brothers, we do not want you to be ignorant about those who fall asleep, or to grieve like the rest of men, who have no hope. 14 We believe that Jesus died and rose again and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. 15 According to the Lord's own word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left till the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. 16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. 18 Therefore encourage each other with these words. NIV

This begins a new role for ALL Christians, and this is where I will concentrate my thoughts. This all happens after the end of the church age and at the end of evangelistic efforts to win souls for Christ. Now we begin preparation for “THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST,” not as “THE LAMB OF GOD,” but this time as “THE KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS!” In Rev 19:11-16 we see this coming with Jesus coming on a white horse with a flame of fire in His eyes, and many crowns on His head, and a new name that only HE KNOWS! My knew job will be to ride a white horse behind as a part of HIS ARMY wearing my garment of FINE WHITE LINEN, as fresh and pure as pure can be. I will have NO NEED of weapons because all the weapons needed will come out of the mouth of Christ. All HE has to do is speak the words and they proceed out of His mouth as a sharp two edged sword, and with these words He will smite the nations and will RULE them with a rod of iron. Then He treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. Our jobs will be to cheer Him on and Shout and Sing The PRAISES of His Victory as He take His place as “KING OF KINS, AND LORD OF LORDS!.

Rev 19:11-16

11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.
12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.
13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.
14 And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.
15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

My Brother and Sister in Christ I will be so happy to participate in this new role as I know you will. As you go about your daily activities of witnessing for Christ, keep these things in the back of your minds, and make sure your life is to the GLORY of GOD. Please don’t let BAD activities that happen everyday affect your life, but keep the goodness given you by God take the head spot in your life. The love within me, given to me by my Lord, goes out to each of you. It’s good to be back!
