I had just left my job after 6 years. A quick descent after a long climb. It was the worst year of my life where I had lost my wife and marriage. My kids were devastated over the breakup with my 9 yr old son being suspended from school almost…
"guys, the presentation of these four songs is awesome.. it shows class and Raising the Bar.. I might be 65 but I like good awesome music with meaning.. with these 4 songs you have done that.. I am going to show you as the Artist of the week on…"
In 2007 I had decided to release an EP (entitled Walk") of some songs that I had been writing under the non-existent band name “The Weak Need”. I then used that EP to find players to form an actual band. In 2009, The Weak Need released our first CD entitled “Restitution”. This CD was promptly nominated for a GMA Modern Rock Alternative Album Of The Year. In 2012, we released another album we called “Everything But You”. However, shortly after this CD came out, I decided to step out of the band as it became more of chore than a joy. This was an extremely difficult decision for me.
Days after the band had been dismantled, there was a new writing freedom that came over me and I dug in and started writing and recording. I drew on my vast loop library, band samples from previous CD's, and virtual instruments in my home studio and was writing an average of a song a week spending up to 18 hours a day in the basement. Ready For Rome is the culmination of that time and effort.
Although on my own for now, I have chosen to release this project under the band name as well with the logic
being that The Weak Need name is simply a vessel to deliver the songs that I have written. The players themselves are the essential parts that make up the engine of the band. I am currently in discussions with some friends and contacts to re-form the band and bring The Weak Need to an entirely new level
