- Elder Stephen Evans and Minister David Range are the eldest and youngest children of the Rev. Genevieve Brown of Joliet, IL. Together they form the gospel duo known as EKKLESIA (ee-clay-see-ah), a Greek word which means Called Out.
They released their debut CD entitled “What Cha’ Waitin’ 4?” in 2006.
Their second CD, released in 2008, “War Cry (Taking the Gospel to the Streets)”, was equally successful.
Their third CD is in the works right now, and is much anticipated. Due for release January 2013.
Elder Stephen Evans is a licensed and ordained minister at In The Upper Room Ministries, Lansing, IL where David Bigsby is his Senior Pastor. Elder Stephen Evans also works with the choir ministry at ITURM.
Over the years, his singing career has allowed him the experience of performing with many different groups, both secular and Christian. Elder Evans’ voice has been compared to such music giants as Isaac Hayes and Barry White. However, his love for gospel music has long since removed him from the world of secular music. Gospel music to him is not just music—it is ministry. It speaks to people’s souls and encourages, heals and strengthens them. He loves the Lord, and has been anointed to write and to sing for his Glory.
Minister David Range is a licensed minister at In The Upper Room Ministries, Lansing, IL where David Bigsby is his Pastor. Minister Range is the director of the praise team at ITURM. He treasures two things: the love of the Lord and music. The Lord has blessed him with a special gift to write and arrange music. Minister Range took his talent to the community – through schools, plays and radio as a young man. Range’s voice reaches beyond the secular and into the world where he can share his life experiences with the hearts and ears of others.
Their debut CD and sophomore release both received rave reviews, as well as much radio air play. It is this Award Winning duo’s desire to take their music to the next level, where it reaches the masses on a national and international level.
With the support of their family, church family, supporters and well wishers locally and nationally, they’re poised to make an impact on the Gospel Music Industry.
