Bless me father, for I have sinned,
Accept my prayer, I need you to rescind,
The problems of my past, playing on my soul,
Fill me with hope and fill the h***,

The void I feel in my heart,
That missing piece, that work of art,
That can only come from God above,
I need you to teach me the ways of love,

As i've lost my way and languished in lust,
Forgive me I beg you, I need your trust,
as i've loved and lost many times,
Please absolve me from my crimes,

Only you, oh priest ordained,
Can shake the shackles of my heart, that's chained,
To a notion of heaven, not here on earth,
As I look to you to measure my worth

It is plain to see that like many "christians" there is a theological ignorance that is not the fault of believers, but their shepherds that mislead with half truths, and self exaltation that results in seperating heart felt believers, one from another. You should not comment on something you clearly don't understand and instead admit confusion, and ask questions, "come let us reason together" Amen?
every catholic knows the priest does not forgive sins, but those precepts are founded in scripture, like James 5:13 through16. Have you ever told a friend a secret, and immedietly felt BETTER?
Hi David,

I come from Newfoundland, where the infamous Mt. Cashel sex abuse scandal took place. Also, numerous other cases, where the Priests who people think are acting in the place of God, and forgiving their sins, are raping little children, when they walk out of the confessional.

Do you really think these Priests have the Holy Spirit, or know God?

Perhaps you should study this issue, the confessional goes all the way back to Babylon. Read "The Two Babylons" by Hislop, or "A Woman Rides the Beast" by Dave Hunt.

Here is an article on the subject, I am aware of the Vatican's arguments to justify their position but I reject them as false and unBiblical, like so many other things they do and teach.

Again priests don't have a monopoly on sin, or do you not choose to share the same abuse that has been delivered by the hands of pentecostals, baptists, and on, and on. There are believers of every dotorine, and belief guilty of the same horror. Study human nature because that includes everyone instead of pointing fingers, and we can't also ignore the good that has come from those you have singled out to accuse.
Lucifer knew God, and fell. Do you believe that you are not capable of falling. The bible does not teach that, quit the contrary. ANYONE can fall.
I quite agree anyone call fall and Paul writes about it.

1 Corinthians 10:12 Therefore, whoever thinks he is standing securely should watch out so he doesn't fall

Not only individuals, but institutions can fall, as John writes here.

Revelation 18:2 Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.

The question is, are you going to go to God for forgiveness through the only mediator between God and man - Jesus Christ, or are you going to go to a fallen institution, and fallen men, for absolution.

The difference is actually knowing the difference between absolution, and forgiveness. People hear and praise you for your music, and you are a fallen man saved by grace? I was raised in Catholic school, next to church. My mom has been catholic all her 86 years, and has prayed in ways that would shake a lesser in faith, and understanding, and she has always been very blessed, and has never had any theological study, and is not highminded, but loves God. I have seen many miracles concerning her health of which many doctors have been wittness to. Now explain that away with your great wisdom, and knowledge of God, and what He will or won,t recognize. It is common knowledge in todays church that a priest does not have power to forgive sins. And Babylon was never a God fearing establishment. You use references outdated and totaly changed. Go visit the pope someday, and ask him if he believes he is infallable, you may be surprised to learn something you never knew, only thought you knew.
Hi David,

My Father was a Catholic altar boy. Your Mother was a devout Catholic. What does this prove about what the Pope's claim for themselves?

A few present-day Catholics, including priests and bishops, refuse to accept papal infallibility as a matter of faith, such as the theologian Hans Küng, author of Infallible? An Inquiry, and historian Garry Wills, author of Papal Sin. A recent (1989–1992) survey of Catholics from multiple countries (the USA, Austria, Canada, Ecuador, France, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Korea, Peru, Spain and Switzerland), aged 15 to 25 showed that 36.9% accepted the teaching on papal infallibility, 36.9% denied it, and 26.2% said they didn't know of it. (Source: Report on surveys of the International Marian Research Institute, by Johann G. Roten, S.M.)
Hi David,

You missed my point with Babylon. You think of literal Babylon, and I speak of symbolic Babylon.

Protestant Bible scholars, have taught for hundreds of years, that Babylon was the code name for Rome - the city on the seven hills, which rules over the Kings of men (Rev. 17).

City of Seven Hills usually refers to Rome (Wikipedia).

Purple and scarlet are her colors, and she is decked with gold and precious stones, just as the Bible said. Her control over the Kings of Europe is a matter of record.
So are you now claiming what they claim, that you are unfallable, that you know the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. You see the irony?
Hi David,

I do not, and never have, claimed to be infallible! I claim to be a old sinner saved by grace. Even the album I am working on is called "Songs from a Sinner".

However, the Popes and Prelates claim to be infallible, in spite of the fact that they are steeped in sin, and guilty of the most heinous acts imaginable.

"We hold upon this earth the place of God Almighty." Pope Leo XIII, in an Encyclical letter, dated June 20, 1894

"The Pope is not only the representative of Jesus Christ, but he is Jesus Christ, hidden under a veil of flesh." The Catholic National, July 1895

"But the supreme teacher in the Church is the Roman Pontiff... [who] requires... complete submission and obedience of will... as to God Himself." Pope Leo XIII, the Great Encyclical Letters, p. 193

"It seems that Pope John Paul II now presides over the universal Church from his place upon Christ's cross." Taken from an article entitled, "Auckland Bishop Says Pope Presides From the Cross" AUCKLAND, New Zealand, SEPT. 20, 2004, Zenit.org

"Indeed, it is not too much to say that in view of the sublimity of their offices the priests are so many gods." Pope Innocent III

"For professing faith contrary to the Church of Rome, history records the martyrdom of more than one hundred million people." Brief Bible Readings, p. 16

"We must rank the Inquisition ... as among the darkest blots on record of mankind."Will Durant, The Story of Civilization, vol. 4, p. 78

"That the Church of Rome has shed more innocent blood than any other institution that has ever existed among mankind will be questioned by no Protestant who has a complete knowledge of history. It is impossible to form a complete conception of the multitude of her victims, and it is quite certain that no powers of imagination can adequately realize their sufferings." W. E. H. Leeky, History of the Rise and Influence of the Spirit of Rationalism in Europe, Vol. 2:32, 1910 edition
All true facts without a doubt, and once again focusing on the sin of individuals, that are questionably christians. Jesus's definition of christian : I am the light of the world. He who FOLLOWS Me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. There is no measuring tape of sin, For ALL have sinned, and fall SHORT of the glory of God, period. If I pulled out your history and began to plaster it all over the world how long do you think your credibility would stand. Yes maybe in the circle of friends, and those that know you, but in the big picture? You see the futility of claiming to be a man of God then proceeding to use your education for the tearing down of others that happen to be catholic. Yes you say it is against the institution, but the institution is made up of millions of catholics???
